My Royal Trip To South Africa!

It’s been a little more than a month since I came back from South Africa, but nevertheless I’m here with another travel story, my trip to South Afreekkaaaaa! Woohooo!

I was on this trip with my extended family and a few family friends so I knew it would be a lot of fun. The total duration of the trip was 11 days-10 nights and very memorable indeed.

CAPETOWN-

(Day 2,3 & 4)

Our second day of the journey started from Cape Town where we stayed at the Pepper Club Hotel.

Now the first day in South Africa! We proceeded on an exciting sightseeing tour of this beautiful city with its majestic Table Mountain backdrop. We Enjoyed a scenic view at the top of Table Mountain Cable Car 3600 (weather permitting) for a panoramic view of the city and coastline. After which we went to the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens.

Further, we visited the famous Victoria and the Alfred waterfront, one of Cape Town’s biggest tourist attractions where we enjoyed at the Two Ocean’s Aquarium. We went to party at the Long Street, which was the street adjacently behind our hotel- The crowd, bars, music, people, food, fashion- Amazing! Here’s when I was starting to get in love with Cape Town.

The following day, we went to the meet the “Jackass penguins” at Boulders Beach. Also drove past Green Market square, District Six, Company Gardens, and Houses of the Parliament, the City Hall, the Castle and Slave Lodge. I was very impressed by Cape Town.

The next day was to go to a touch point of Cape of Good Hope, where the Atlantic and the Indian Ocean are said to meet. The cruise happened later from Hout Bay to the Seal Colony, to meet the Seal’s.

KNYSNA-

(Day 4 & 5)

Next day, we drove down to Knysna via Mossel Bay, which is a harbour town where you visit the Bartolomeu Dias Museum complex which is the largest of the museums in Mossel Bay. At reaching Knysna, we checked in at the Conrad Pezula Hotel, LAVISHHHH! I We were blown away by the layout of the resort and the spaciousness and beauty of the rooms. Absolutely one of the best! The hotel has a bus shuttle which is very convenient if you want to get to the waterfront or other sightseeing places. The evening was spent at their fitness centre and at their hot water swimming pool.

The following day, we had a day trip from Knysna to Oudtshoorn, we visited the famous Cango Caves, where the stalactite and stalagmite formations are an incredible sight. Later had some quality time spent at the Ostrich farms amidst the Ostriches. My favourite of them was “Miss Ostrich Madonna”, she was beautiful enough which enticed me to click a selfie with her. Thereafter, further drove to Cheetah Ranch and Crocodile Enclosure. Then we came back to Knysna.

SUNCITY-

(Day 5 & 6)

Next stop? Suncity! Why is it called Suncity? “It is a city that knows no limits, a city that never sleeps!”

We had a luxurious day spent at “The Palace Of the Lost City”, The hotel was a city intself, that huge! From the moment you set foot in the Palace of the Lost City, you step into a world of luxury, fantasy and adventure. The service is world class, with everything you would expect from a world-class facility. We checked in at late evening because it was an entire day’s travelling. Here, we visited the local casino for some roulette time.

The next day, we started the day with a wonderful experience of the Fastest Zip Line which goes at 160Km/Hr. BREATHTAKING! Later, we spent the afternoon at the hotel’s artificial beach called as “Valley of the Waves”. This was the most relaxing time. #IMissIt!

JOHANNESBURG-

(Day 7)

Left Suncity and reached Johannesburg. We fortunately caught a beautiful flea market on our way to Joburg. We shopped like crazy. Pieces of decoration, statues, Mama-Papa’s, key chains, fridge magnets, Ostrich egg, paintings, tribal jewellery, carvings and what not! But Joburg- Nothing as expected! Explored the Gold Reef City, which is an amusement park. This amusement park is located on an old gold mine which shut years ago. Once we were done seeing the Gold mines, we enjoyed some roller coaster rides at the adventure park. Also, its said to be an unsafe city!

So Jo’burg, as its called, had nothing else to offer us. Shocking! Isn’t it? This is why we planned to stay in Jo’burg for just one day.

KRUGER NATIONAL PARK-

(Day 8 & 9)

From Jo’burg, was our last stop- Kruger National Park! We stayed at the Nikambeni River Lounge which was extremely beautiful. We were welcomed in a way that we were actually looking forward to all the activities there! The resort was so nicely done; right from the landscape spaces to the rooms everything was atheistically pleasing. Traditional architecture, wooden houses, natural landscaping…somewhere in middle of the jungle. A perfect holiday home I would say. We had a bonfire set up and some tribal dance shows there in the evening followed with some sumptous dinner.

The next day was was a full day game drive, where we could spot a lot of animals and all those among the “BIG FIVES”. Such a safari look though, thrilling enough! The whole safari experience was magical, if given a chance to do it again, I wouldn’t give a second thought. If you are visiting South Africa, then you HAVE TO do this! It’s beautiful! Right from the king of the jungle to cheetahs, zebras, giraffes, rhinos and so on, we literally spotted numerous gorgeous wildlife species! I’m in love!

On the 10th day we had our flight back home with some wonderful memories of the “South African Royale” tour. Can’t wait to travel soon again! Until then have an amazing day YOU!
