Who has heard of Aromatherapy before? Today, Asian Roots invited me for a super luxurious pampering session, for experiencing Aromatherapy Associates.
Asian Roots is different from other spas as it measures up to the guidelines set by the Day Spa Association of USA. The whole concept behind starting Asian Roots is to provide an urban retreat to men and women, and not just add another beauty clinic to the already growing list in Delhi. It offers other various beauty and wellness services. They cater to some Anti aging services like Botox, Fillers, Thread lifts, Thermage & Ultherapy. They also specialize in skin rejuvenation services like Photofacials, PRP & Clearlift; Hydrating treatments like the Sheer skin mantra to Intraceutical oxyfacials. They have variety of laser services for hair reduction as well; along with which they have their Coolsculpt for body shaping treatment too.
The service I went for is the Aromatherapy Associates, which focuses on Mindful beauty by giving you time to stop and find balance in your life. It’s a passionate understanding of essential oils and their therapeutic benefits which work for skin, body and mind.
It started off with a little questionnaire, which the consultant asked me to fill, on the basis of which my treatment plan would have been decided. Its an art and a science on how they work closely with the natural oils and extracts, and select ingredients to the customer to balance out their skin issues, mood, mind and life. They made me sniff some fragrances. The sense of smell is the most primitive of all our senses and it is linked to some of the oldest and deepest parts of the brain. As we breathe in the aromas of the essential oils, it can trigger emotional and even physical responses and allow vivid memory recall of people or places.
Also, because I was facing some sleep issues in that past on week, I was suggested the relax light bath and shower oil, a combination of lavender, ylang ylang and chamomile essential oils. This body care collection is to mainly calm your mind, control the worries and anxiety and gives you a chance to unwind.
The therapist, named Preety explained that, “The molecules in the essential oils are small enough to allow them to penetrate through the skin. In skincare products, by penetrating into the deeper layers of the skin, essential oils can have a positive effect on the skin, such as optimizing the cellular renewal process, enhancing blood circulation and addressing problems such as acne, eczema and aging skin. Once the constituents of essential oils enter the bloodstream they can be carried to all areas of your body. They reach areas with a good network of blood vessels more quickly; for example, the liver, kidneys and some muscle groups.”
Aromatherapy is most effective when focusing on pulse points. With the chosen oil, the therapist used carefully applied pressures to stimulate the nervous system, Swedish and neuromuscular techniques to relieve muscular tension, and lymphatic drainage to encourage healthy circulation. This treatment worked from my head to my toes, as it dissolved away all of my stress and tension. This is an intense massage ritual drawn from a fusion of eastern and western techniques that enabled Preety to work on my body, mind and spirit. The massage ritual was something between 60 or 90 minutes. This treatment released all my tension held in every part of the body which left me feeling deeply relaxed and recharged. I felt so heavenly, rejuvenated and so energetic after the ritual. I am definitely making this a regular habit of getting this ritual done.
